Mentoring Program

Mentoring Program

Applications now being Accepted

Deadline: Wednesday - May 9, 2018

Do you wish you had someone in fundraising who you could consult with when you have questions? Do you have experience in our industry that you are willing to share?

Then consider being a part of this year's AFP Northeast Wisconsin's Mentorship program!

We are looking for both Mentors and Mentees to be a part of this career enriching experience. The expectations and time commitment are minimal, but what we learn from each other is invaluable.

The expectations of being a Mentor/Mentee are minimal. We suggest you try to meet or at least chat by phone once per quarter. Conversation topics are completely up to the Mentor/Mentee, but suggestions will be given if needed. Our expectation is that the Mentee will be in charge of scheduling the face-to-face meetings or phone conversations with the Mentor.

We will not follow a calendar year schedule for the Mentor Program, since having a mentor/mentee during the entire end-of-year appeal season would be particularly helpful!

Later in May there will be an informal meet and greet /happy hour for our Mentors and Mentees, where we will all meet, get a chance to know each other, and have some fun, too! This will be an enjoyable, relaxed get-to-know-you that will help us make the Mentor/Mentee matches, so don't miss it! This event was a highlight of the Mentor program last year, so we hope you can make it.

Reminder, you need to be an AFP member to be a Mentor. If you are not an AFP member but would like to be a Mentee, there will be a nominal $20 fee to participate in the program. However, if you decide to become an AFP member by the end of 2018, we'll refund the $20 fee!
